Since purchasing this Transtar on on Ebay in Nov of 2002, a new chapter of this Transtar has had a new started which I'm sure is surpassing its' old history by leaps and bounds! This Transtar has been complete restored to better then original condition with modications. The Transtar is a 3 /4 ton model 2E12 pickup has had the excellent quality Turner Disc Brake system added to the front (still manual brakes). the new hubs and rotors changed the bolt pattern of the 3 /4 ton style to the 1 /2 ton style bolt pattern. I changed out the complete differential to a GM 1 /2 ton 12 bolt that matched the front bolt hub pattern. Completely rebuilt the differential with a new positraction carrier, and installed a new 3.73 ratio ring and pinion. This gives the truck a 1 /2 ton look and ride with the suspension capacity of a 3 /4 Ton. The restoration was a complete off the frame, except the cab and the steering column. The body work done to this Transtar is impeccable, and took well over a year to complete. The wiring harness has been replaced and updated. New high output 100 amp chrome alternator was installed, as well as a new wiper system from Specialty Power Windows. A custom under hood panel was designed and fabricated to cover the instrument panel and battery. The Studebaker V8 engine was professionally rebuilt by Nimesh 'Nash' Solanki, from Atlanta, who does premium high performance Studebaker engines.
