The effects of Ford's massive investments in Jaguar were felt with a “back to the roots” design for the XJ6, with a more rounded shape, dual headlights flowing into the bonnet and sleek and tapered lines along with the familiar Jaguar haunches.
Mechanically, an all new and much needed electrical system was installed as well as an updated version of the AJ6 engine, the 245 hp AJ16.
Driving the new Ford manufactured version reveals the difference from the old Jaguar: The engine feels more responsive and delivers more power with better acceleration, especially from a stop. Handling is surprisingly good considering the size of the XJ6 and its vocation as a luxury car, but again good handling has always been a characteristic of Jaguars.

This car was at a storage facility since 1987. Since the car was outside, it has lots of surface rust and the Leather Interior and dash has cracks and mildew. The body metal is straight. It does not have a title and I am currently trying to get keys made because the ignition key is cracked and may break. The last time the vehicle was registered was 1987. The car has 20,935 on the odometer which is original but the car has not been started since 1987 so I'm not sure what will happen when I get keys made. As I said, there is no title and the car is not running. It would be a good parts car for someone that needs parts to repair or restore another Jaguar. I have pictures that I could send if you like. I can probably answer any questions that you may have. The vehicle is located in Montross Virginia.
