the car is a beutiful continental convertible, everything is there, but the body has rust in the floorpans, lower doors, and quarter panels. the interior is all there, but needs to be redone, as does the top. the engine looks good, and ran about 3 years ago when we parked it. and it has sat outside in the AZ sun ever since. glass is perfect, body is very straight (aside from the rust down low!) I just know that it would be very useful as a parts car, or could even be restored, since there were only about 3200 convertibles built in 62. FOR SALE is my beloved 1962 Lincoln Continental. This car is GREAT!!! It is a blast to drive on a sunny day with the sun glistening off of all the chrome. It rides real smooth. It was already lowered when I purchased it, NEW tires, NEW rear brakes, NEW carpet, NEW seats upholstery, NEW carpet, NEW Stereo /DVD Mobile Video System. I have done a 95% complete replacing of the upholstery on the inside, from the carpet to dash. The headliner and visors are still OFF-WHITE. They can be dyed rather then replaced since they are in great shape. I live in a small town with limited resources and nobody in the area could dye them for me. I was planning on having it done in Sacramento when I took my car there to get the paint done. The interior used to be three toned brown, but now is BLACK Leather Pebble Grain / with RED Faux Suede.
THE HISTORY... I purchased this car about 14 months ago (last October I think)out by Temecula, CA. I then drove it home (Crescent City, CA) with no problems, around 900 miles. I drove it for a couple of months, and then it was garaged because of the work being done to the interior. That was suppose to take a few weeks to a month to get done, but ended up taking the guy a little under 7 months. Once the interior was finished (about 3 months ago) I have drove it occasionally due to rainy weather. I try not to drive this car too much because I am afraid I won’t sell it!
