Nice all original 1977 Mercedes Benz 280 Series coupe. This is an original 280 SLC, EUROPEAN MODEL, with the rare 2.8L dual cam 6 cyl, a nearly indestructible engine.
It has fairly low original mileage for a US car ( 198KM = 118K miles). Speedomoeter is calibrated in KM, not miles. 3 spd automatic transmission shifts well. Tight suspension. Good Power steering and Power disc brakes. Manual windows. Sunroof works. Nice later E Class MBZ alloy wheels with very good tires.
One small blemish ( rusty bubble) on a rain gutter area, othewrwise quite nice for such an old car, STILL in its original Silver finish.

380SL Mercedes Benz in very, very good condition. Has approximately 109,000 miles with recent head and valve overhaul. I have the receipt for the overhaul done at 100,621 miles. It also has a new windshield, a new complete exhaust system, and the AC /Heat control has been replace by an electronic servo.
The interior is in very good condition. The soft top was only a year old when I purchased the car and is still like new. It has only been exposed to the sun for a limited amount of time. The hard top is in very good condition and the headliner looks great. A Service Manual on CD is included with the car.

Original single owner has black 1985 Mercedes 380 SL for sale. Vehicle has 80700 miles and comes with extra hardtop in addition to soft cover lid. The soft cover is not the original. It was replaced over 10-15 years ago. The car has never been in an accident.
The car has been very well maintained. It has always been kept in an attached garage and has had numerous, regular oil changes and lubes, the latest in Sept., 2011. The battery was replaced in March, 2010. The car was tuned up with new parts in March, 2007. In addition, numerous hoses were replaced at that time. In Sept., 2011 the relay on the fuel pump was replaced. The car has always passed the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Inspection and currently is inspected through October, 2013. The shocks are new in April, 2007. The tires were replaced July, 2005 at 77,123 miles. Hence, there is plenty of life remaining on the current tires. The exhaust system was inspected by Midas October, 2009 and found to be in good condition. The muffler and tailpipe has been replaced, but I can’t state when.
To my knowledge the only problem with the car is that the air conditioning system experienced a very small leak many, many years ago. Since the car is a convertible, the AC has never been needed and was never repaired. The car does show some wear on the seats, but this is very slight.
