I've got an 88 nissan p/u -- it starts and runs but all other electrical is out -- no lights, wipers, anything -- wth?

HERE IS A IDEA TRY CHECKING YOUR FUSIBLE LINKS RIGHT OFF THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL ON THE BATTERY IF YOU HAVE THAT SETUP OR GO TO YOUR RELAY BOXES ON THE FENDER WELLS AND CHECK THEM OR YOU COULD HAVE A REALLY BAD GROUND SOMEWHERE I KNOW THAT NISSAN PICKUPS ARE ALSO BAD ABOUT HAVING KEY SWITCH PROBLEMS

I have a 95 Nissan Max. and when I got to start my car either in the mornings or when I'm about to go somewhere it stalls as if it wants to cut off.While I'm driving it hesitates to accelarate like it wating before it accelarate. When I come to a stop it stalls like it going to cut off.

i have a 95 nissan p.u. keeps blowing fuel pump fuse i have replaced the pump problem still occurs. if you unplug fuel pump connector it will not blow fuse. any help would be gratful. thanks don

on my truck the fuel pump is on top of the gas tank. The wires would corode where they connect to the pump and blow the fuse.

i have a 88 nissan pathfinder and my horn or my power lock stop working...i tried some new relays but the problen still exest, they both stop working at the same time so i figure they must be connected some how..can you give any suggestions please...thank you.

I have a 95 Nissan quest van that just died on me at a light. I did check the fuse at first, at least I thought I checked the right one and it looked fine. I had it sent to a garage and they told me that my crankshaft broke off at the harmonic balance wheel and needed an engine replacement. This he said, was due to the fact that whoever just changed my timing belt had the tensioner too tight, and it caused the crankshaft to snap at the bearing at the harmonic balance wheel. Well, I had the engine replaced and it ran good, but again, when I was at idle or a light, it died after about 5-10 minutes of running. It was then that I seen the fuel pump fuse blown, and after several tries, it still keeps blowing, but only while at idle and at a standstill for several seconds to minutes, but not while moving.It takes a 15 AMP fuse and just to see, I did try to use a 20 and 25 AMP in order, but they get blown too. This same mechanic says that it is a sign that the fuel pump is going out and is getting "hot" and drawing excessive current. I have read that if the fuel pump was bad, it would blow the fuse immediately, and a likely culprit may be the fuel pump relay. I may just replace the relay and see what happens. The guy at my local auto parts store said that I may just have a bad ground or short in the wiring, but I would think that it would cut out at anytime, not just at idle. Any light you can shed to this would be appreciated. By the way, I have over 172, 000 miles on it, and the relays are the originals.

I've got a '93 Nissan pu, 4 cylinder. I just put in a new alternator. I disconnected the battery before starting but after I disconnected the wire (from the alternator) and was removing the old alternator the battery cable became dislodged and fell back on the post. There was some shorting from the wire touching the old alternator. This happened over period of 5-8 seconds before I could pull back the battery cable. There was some smoke coming from the wire harness to the positive side of the battery. I check some of the wires for continuity and they looked okay.When I finished up I started the engine and everything sounded okay. I ran it for about a minute and shut it off. The next morning I went out to start it. The engine would turn over but very hard. After a 2-3 tries the battery seemed like it didn't have enought power to turn the engine. I'm just wondering if I created a short in the wiring and it is draining the battery. Any clues as to what I should do? Thanks.

While I'm driving it hesitates to accelarate like it waiting before it accelarate. Nissan p/u 1994 6 cylinderstalling also.

My son drove into the rear of an SUV and smashed in the front drivers side of our little 1993 Nissan Pickup. All of the electrical is working except for the running lights and the headlights. The running light on the left side was completely destroyed but the headlights are OK. As I turn on the switch the rear running lights do not even come on. The 15 amp fuses for each headlight are OK. The headlights were not on at the time of the accident and the wires all look good (not cut). Any ideas? Could a short on the left side cause the right side or rear not to work?

I have an 88 Nissan Pu that won't start. It was running great then I messed with the distributor, and then the battery went dead and even though I replaced the battery, She still will not start. The Distributor has power going all the way down to it's end and the fuses are all good and intact. The coils aslo have power running to them with the ignition switch on, yet when cranking, the spark plugs wires don't throw any juice to the the plugs. Any Suggestion for this mess? Thanks, Marco

I have a Nissan Pathfinder 98, Chilkoot Trail (Canadian version). One day, its mirror compass and mirror lights stopped working. Then, inside lights, hazards lights, radio, lighter, and "A" and "B" odometers stop working as well. I checked the fuse box and I didn't find any wrong . Now, doors dashboard light is on and blinding, but it get solid when I press (push) down the break pedal; and its keyless system doesn't work , I have to open and close doors manually. When flashing (right and left) lights are working and I turn hazard light on, the former doesn't work. It really driving me crazy. I don't really know what to do. I assume there should be some "midway" fuse between the fuse box and the relays box. I appreciate so much any help about this issue. Thank you

i have a 91 nissan trk the light, s won, t work on dim onley one will work the outher won, t wotk i have done everything to fix it but it still won, t work i havwe check fuses changed lights checked swith but still can, t get one to work is it a shiort on one side or do you think it is something else

my 87 pick up fuel pump shorts and i tried rewiring from the energy source but still shorts somewhere , were can i find the wiring diagram on internet.

i have a 95 nissan pick up i just replaced the starter a month ago it worked great but now when i turn the key to start it, it just clicks once and draws power for about 20 seconds then stops. i have tried bypassing the relay that did not work everything on the starter is connected good and the ground wire from the engine block to the frame is connected. i dont know where to go next with this it will not even turn the starter over at all any suggestions?

intermittant starter. works when it wants do i replace starter all the relays i know read trhough thier coils?

I have a 94 nissan pick-up, 4 cyl straight drive, that will not even turn over. The battery is fine and the cables are fine. All is getting fire, but when push in clutch it will turn even turn over. All lights come on, has been acting up for a couple of weeks, like the battery was dead, now just stopped turning over altogether

1993 Nissan 4-cylinder pickup: turn signals don't work, suddenly. Can't find the turn-signal switch. Not on steering column? Is it buried in the dashboard?

I have a 93 Nissan extended cab and my electric fan starts and stops working for no apparent reason. I have checked the connection to the battery and have changed the fuse. What else do I need to check?
